3 Things to Consider for White Glove Medical Equipment Delivery

Selling medical White Glove Medical Deliveryequipment today is a highly competitive environment, but what often gets lost in the shuffle is considering how you will transport your valuable hi-tech equipment on-time and in-tact. You have perfected the technology that will help save and improve lives, but now you need to consider the fact of how you will actually transport your valuable product. It can be confusing. There are so many transportation and logistics providers out there that seem to provide similar services. Here are three tips in considering a provider:

Shipment Ownership

Simply put, can you place one call or email, and let your transportation provider take care of the rest? A carrier’s job must include customer service. The carrier should also ensure that there are no surprises. Deliveries to the inside of a hospital or clinic can be very tricky. Find out if the carrier calls ahead to the consignee to work out any and all logistical details for the delivery. Pro-active communication with yourself and the consignee are critical.

Offers Options

Working with a vendor who gives you options is essential today. We all have normally busy schedules, and it’s important to consider a provider with multiple services under one roof. Streamlining your vendor relationships is important, as it saves you time, provides one point of contact, and one neck to choke if issues come up.  Make sure the carrier you choose not only has white glove delivery but also other services such as expedited air freight, access to common carriers, and courier options.

Experience

Last, but not least: How much experience does the company actually have?  Almost anyone can call themselves a 3PL in this marketplace with carrier agreements and home office. Make sure they have a proven track record of success.  Ask them about their other clients and references from those clients. If they can’t provide a customer to be their advocate; they are probably not worth considering.  Finally talk to their operations staff. See if they are knowledgeable about your industry and ask about their past experience in transportation and logistics. The picture will paint itself.

What characteristics do you look for in a white glove medical equipment delivery service provider?
